Human by Design is a platform committed to advancing human inventiveness for a rapidly changing century.

Founded by Mikhaël Akasha, the initiative operates at the intersection of leadership, strategy and innovation. Mikhaël serves as Innovation Lead and Lecturer at Maastricht University’s School of Business & Economics, where he contributes to executive education and MBA programmes and lectures on innovation, leadership, sustainability and business transformation. The Maastricht MBA programmes are recognised by Corporate Knights among the world’s leading programmes for sustainability, ranked #1 in Europe and Top 3 globally (2025).

Alongside his work at Maastricht University, Mikhaël teaches as a guest lecturer at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning and Webster University, contributing his expertise in innovation, sustainability and business transformation to selected programmes and courses.

Since 1997, Mikhaël has worked as a problem solver for Fortune 500 companies. He has led diverse, multidisciplinary teams and co-created world-class innovations, including first-of-their-kind solutions. In leadership roles, he supported the global evolution of P&G’s largest brand across more than 180 territories and delivered pioneering projects for brands such as Eurostar, Agnès b, Evian, France Telecom, Coca-Cola, and Sympany Foundation.

What distinguishes Mikhaël’s work is a rare synthesis. Alongside his academic and corporate background, he has spent years learning directly from indigenous wisdom keepers and elders, including Māori, Aboriginal Australian, Native American. Deepening his understanding of consciousness, nature, and the human energetic blueprint. He integrates these insights with systems thinking, innovation, leadership, and energetic medicine to create practical, transformative approaches for individuals, leaders, and organisations.

Through applied research, strategic design sprints, and real-world experimentation, Human by Design equips leaders and learners to upgrade how they think, collaborate, and create value in a rapidly changing world.

Within this ecosystem sits Resonance by Design™, a framework for life-serving innovation that expands sustainability beyond compliance toward material health, ecological coherence, and long-term vitality.
